Dell’Orto Needles – Type W (Mini 60 / PHDG / PHBG)
Dell’Orto’s Type W needle range allows precise adjustment of fuelling in Mini 60 carburettors (PHDG and PHBG). The needle controls fuel flow between roughly ¼ and ¾ throttle and has a major impact on throttle response, temperature, and power delivery.
Each needle has a different taper length and tip diameter — even small changes are noticeable in engine behaviour and acceleration. The W01–W26 range provides fine-tuning flexibility for different weather, track, and engine setups.
 
How to choose:
  • Low W-number (W01–W07) = richer – more fuel, suited for cold weather or high compression.
  • Mid W-number (W08–W17) = balanced – standard choice for most Mini 60 engines.
  • High W-number (W18–W26) = leaner – less fuel, quicker throttle response, ideal for hot weather.
Compatibility: Dell’Orto PHDG and PHBG – Mini 60 carburettors
Application / Position: Throttle slide needle – controls fuel delivery at part throttle
Material: Hardened steel – precision-ground taper
Installation: Mounted inside the throttle slide with adjustable clip position
