Information

M5 rim security screw for kart wheels with a drilled mounting hole. The screw provides mechanical tyre retention and is designed for karting applications where low weight, quick operation and secure installation are important.

The M5 thread is the standard size used for this type of tyre-retaining screw on kart wheels, making it suitable for common kart wheels prepared with a threaded hole for a rim security screw.

The screw is installed through the drilled hole in the wheel and helps prevent the tyre from moving on the rim under load. When changing tyres, the screw must be unscrewed before the tyre is fitted or removed.

A particularly useful feature of this version is the design of the head. The outside is knurled, allowing the screw to be quickly operated by hand. At the same time, the head features an internal hex socket designed for an 8 mm Allen key.

This gives you the convenience of quick finger operation during normal use while still providing a secure tool interface when additional grip is required for tightening or removal.

An O-ring is included and positioned between the screw head and the wheel. The O-ring helps seal around the threaded mounting point while also providing a softer contact surface between the screw and wheel.

At only 5 grams, this is a very lightweight solution ideally suited to racing kart applications.
