OTK Setup guide

OTK Setup Tips
Please note: this setup guide is based on our experience and memory. You may have different opinions on some of these tips.
Always start with the standard setup, as it works well on most tracks.

  Rear Adjustments
 Rear axle stiffness:
Softer axle (U/Q/E) → Better grip on slippery or wet tracks.
Harder axle (H/HH) → For tracks with very high grip, to prevent the kart from hopping or binding on corner exit.
Short axle (1000 mm) → Can help achieve faster release on corner exit.
  • Rear hubs:
Aluminum → Quicker grip but less stability.
    Magnesium → More stability.
    Rear axle height:
Lowering the axle → Reduces grip if the kart is binding in corners.
Raising the axle → Increases grip if the rear feels loose.
    Rear track width:
Narrower → More grip, but can make the kart unstable.
Wider → More stability, but less grip.
    Good baseline: 139 cm.
If grip builds up, increase to 139.5 or up to 140 cm (max).
In rain: bring wheels in so they align with the widest point of the kart (136–137 cm). This increases grip.
    Rear torsion bar:
Use only when additional grip is needed.
Remove it or leave it loose if you need freer release.

Front Adjustments
  • Front track width:
Wider → Better turn-in in wet conditions.
    Narrower → More mid-corner grip.

    Front hubs:
Longer hubs in the rain → Better front grip.
    Front ride height:
Higher → More grip and better turn-in, but less grip mid-to-exit.
Lower → More stability but less grip.

    Camber:
    Positive → More mid-corner grip.
    Negative → More slide.

More positive → Quicker turn-in, heavier steering.
Less positive → Useful in the rain.

    Front torsion bar:
Increases mid-corner grip, but can cause oversteer.
Remove if the rear feels too loose.

    Toe:
    Standard → 1–2 mm toe-out.
Rain → 5–8 mm toe-out for better stability.
